How to Fix a Polyester Rain Fly Tent
Things You'll Need
- Sponge and warm soapy water
- Tent fabric patch
- Scissors
- Nylon fabric epoxy

Wash off the area of the fly or tent main body where the tear or rip occurs. Use the sponge and a little soapy water. Let the area dry.

Spread the damaged area out. Cut out a patch from the patch fabric 1 inch larger in diameter than the hole or tear.

Apply the nylon epoxy to the back of the patch and to the area around the hole or tear. Pinch the hole or tear together and press the patch firmly onto the damaged area. Hold it down for five minutes to let the epoxy begin to set.

Squeeze the edges of the patch to bleed out any air bubbles under the glue or patch. Make sure the patch edges are firmly glued to the tent or fly. Let the epoxy dry for at least 12 hours.

Use the tent or fly as normal once the epoxy sets and is dry.
