How to Landscape With Campers

Landscaping around your camper makes your camper a more welcoming place. Turning your campsite into a landscaped area complete with flowers, shade, sun and seating adds to your living space and gives you more places to gather with friends and family. Choose landscaping items that are easy to pack and transport so you can use them no matter where you park your camper. Add seasonal touches to commemorate the holidays and turn your campsite into home away from home.

Instructions

    • 1

Define your yard around your camper using portable plastic fencing. Choose from short, inexpensive flower border fencing or create a traditional look with crowd-control fencing. This fencing stands with no support so you just line them up next to each other. Flower border fencing have attached stakes that you press into the soil.

    • 2

Push solar-powered garden lights into the soil in front of your fences. The lights can be purchased at home improvement centers and many discount stores and use batteries and solar power to illuminate your landscape.

    • 3

Add container gardens filled with flowers for color in your landscape. Use a mixture of different shapes and sizes when choosing your container garden. The differences in the shapes and sizes bring texture and depth to the landscape and allow you to highlight different areas. Use flower boxes along walkways while choosing more traditional pots at entry points to your camper's yard and on either side of your camper's door. Plant tall flowers in the pots and choose cascading flowers in the flower boxes.

    • 4

Place a small bird bath in the center of the landscape surrounding your camper. Refill the water daily so it stays fresh and continues to attract birds to your landscape.

    • 5

Create a dining area. Set up a small picnic or patio table. Put colorful seats on the chairs or benches. Top the area with a portable awning or a patio umbrella so you're protected from the sun.

    • 6

Make a place to relax. Position a fire pit well away from anything flammable and set comfortable patio chairs around it.
