1
Check all of your camping gear that is stored in a garage, shed or outdoor location for spiders before you leave for your camping trip. Don't forget that spiders live everywhere, not just at campgrounds or national parks. Checking your items before you leave will help ensure that you don't accidentally bring spiders along on your camping trip.

2
Set up camp away from standing water, sources of light and densely forested areas if possible. These environments attract bugs that spiders eat, thus also attracting spiders to your campsite. Although when camping, these environments may be hard to avoid, try your best to place your campsite as far away from these locations as you can.

3
Close all items of food and store them away in a location where bugs will not be attracted to them, such as in a cooler or sealed container. Food items, cans of sugary soda and other drinks attract bugs, which in turn attract spiders to your campsite. Dispose of all food waste and garbage at an appropriate location off your campsite.
-
4
Purchase bug sprays or bug repellent candles to ward off the bugs that attract spiders. Spray bug spray around your campsite or place bug repellent candles in various areas around the perimeter of your campsite in order to prevent bugs from going near your space.
-
5
Observe your tent or camper to check for small holes and cracks where a spider could enter your camping equipment. Plug up these cracks or use heavy-duty tape to cover the holes in order to ensure that the spiders do not crawl into areas where you will be sleeping.
