Types of Safety Harnesses

Safety harnesses help protect the body from injury by preventing back strain and dangerous falls. Fishing, hunting and climbing sports each utilize different types of safety harnesses.
  1. Fishing

    • A fishing harness protects the back from injury when reeling in larger fish. Designed for fishing while standing, these harnesses feature a quick release button, kidney support and extra padding to ease shoulder strain. Additionally, the fishing reel connects to a mechanism on the front of the harness for added comfort and support.

    Hunting

    • When hunting from a tree or high surface, use a hunting harness. This harness ensures safety if a fall occurs during the hunt. Designed with lightweight materials, these harnesses have been designed to wear for extended periods of time with comfort and ease.

    Climbing

    • Harnesses are essential in climbing.

Climbing harnesses are essential for safety in this sport. While climbing up rocks and mountains, climbers require heavy duty harnesses. These harnesses contain space for the climber and all the climber's gear. Three types of harnesses are available: chest, sit-string and full-body harnesses.
