1
Find a well-ventilated area to work on your climbing molds and wear protective gear. Fiberglass resin has a very strong odor. Have a portable fan close by to ventilate and blow away the odor while you are working.
-
2
Mix the fiberglass resin with the fiberglass resin fixer, following the manufacturer's instructions. Pour the silicone sand gradually into the mixture. Estimate the amount of sand to create a perfect proportion.
-
3
Use the clay to form molds for your climbing holds. You can carve out different shapes in the clay to make different molds. The mold sizes should be small, medium and large.
-
4
Pour the resin mixture into the molds, filling it intentionally to the brim.
-
5
Use your hand drill with ¾-inch mason to make holes in your molded resin. Allow resin molds to dry for six hours.
