How to Fish With Manns Stretch Lures
Things You'll Need
- Boat
- Fishing rod and reel (with appropriate test line)
- Swivels
- Fluorocarbon leader
- Mann's Stretch lures
Instructions
-
Rigging
-
1
Tie one of the swivels (of the appropriate weight class) to the tag end of the fishing line coming off of the reel.
-
2
Tie an 18- to 24-inch length of the fluorocarbon leader to the swivel that you have just tied to the main line.
-
3
Tie yet another swivel to the tag end of the fluorocarbon line. This will enable you to easily change the lures--Mann's lures have clips on their rigging.
-
4
Clip on a Mann's lure. This can be a Mann's Stretch 25, 30 or any other size. The number behind the name of the lure indicates the depth at which the lure will dive.
-
5
Drop the lure into the water behind the boat and let out enough line so that the lure can dive to the proper-functioning depth.
-
6
Accelerate the vessel until the lure is moving freely under the water at the appropriate depth and continue to troll at this depth until a fish strikes the lure. You will know a fish has struck the lure by a rapid jerking of the rod tip and the drag on the reel releasing a bit of line.
-
7
Fight the fish as you usually would in any fishing scenario.
