1
Measure a .025-diameter single strand wire to the length of 6 inches, using a tape measure. Cut the wire, using scissors.
-
2
Squeeze the wire and make a ¼-inch loop near the end of the wire, using round-nose pliers. Leave ¾ inch of the wire at the end, which is the trail end wire.
-
3
Insert an 1/8-inch plastic bead into the opposite end of the wire and push it until it goes into the loop. Insert the trail wire into the plastic bead to secure it in place.
-
4
Bend the opposite end of the wire 1 inch from the end at a 50-degree angle, which is the angle end wire, using round-nose pliers. Position the loop 1 inch above the hole in the tip of the fishing rod. Attach the angle end wire to the ice fishing rod, using duct tape.
-
5
Insert the fishing line through the fishing pole guides, into the loop of the spring bobber and back into the hole in the tip of the fishing rod.
