1
Make the chum specifically for the walleye. Since they like particular types of foods, such as frogs, earthworms and leeches, use these three food items as the main ingredients of the chum. Add fish meal as a chum enhancer and bread crumbs as your chum binder. Put the contents into a grinder and grind the ingredients up until they turn to mush. Store the chum in a plastic bucket, which you bring with you onto the fishing boat.

2
Sprinkle one handful of chum into the water at the spot you choose. Create a line out of the chum to draw the fish toward the place where you park the boat. Position a flashlight over the chum line. The chum attracts the bait fish and walleye. The flashlight is used because if you fish for walleye while it's dark outside, they will be able to see where the chum is better with the area lit.

3
Fill a fishing net with the chum and submerge it into the water by your boat. The line of chum will lead the fish to the net full of chum, which is next to the boat.

4
Wait patiently for the walleye to make an appearance in the water at the end of the chum line. As they draw nearer, cast the hook into the chum net in the water. The hook will be disguised in the chum net, which is where the walleye will be lured. As the walleye feed from the chum net they can get hooked.
