How to Tie Fluke Rigs

Fluke rigs are effective for fishing shallow waters for bass. The fluke is a jerk bait, and this tandem rig works to effectively give the impression of a pair of fish swimming through the water. It's an easy rig to tie, and even a beginning angler should have no problems getting it ready to go and into the water.

Instructions

    • 1

Thread the main line from your pole through one eye of the swivel barrel.

    • 2

Tie an 18-inch line to the other eye of the swivel barrel.

    • 3

Tie a hook to the end of the main line.

    • 4

Slide the hook through the front tip of one fluke and out of a slit cut in the bottom of the fluke.

    • 5

Push the fluke up the shank of the hook to where the hook meets the line, and spin it so that the slit is facing the tip of the hook.

    • 6

Push the hook back through the fluke slit so that the tip just extends out the top of the fluke.

    • 7

Repeat Steps 3 through 6 for the second fluke, with a hook tied at the end of the 18 inch line instead of the main line.
