Bark River Knife Specifications

Bark River is a family-owned business run from Michigan. They make some of the finest, sturdiest knives. Bark River makes hunting knives designed for field-dressing, skinning, butchering, processnig and any other needs for hunting. They also manufacture camping and survival knives that can be used for all aspects of outdoor life. Their three most popular knives are the Mini-Northstar, Bravo-1 and Bark River STS-5.
  1. Mini-Northstar

    • The Mini-Northstar knife was made to be used in lightweight hunting and hiking tasks. The Northstar is only 7.125 inches long with a 3.4-inch blade. Weighing only 2.9 ounces, it can placed in a pocket without being bulky and getting in the way. The Mini-Northstar is simply a scaled-down version of the larger Northstar knife. The handle slabs are thinner than other Bark River knives, but are perfect for EDC (everyday carry knives) but can also be used easily in the wild.

    Bravo-1

    • The Bravo-1 knife is a more heavy-duty knife that was produced with the assistance of the Force Recon Division of the Marine Corps. The Bravo-1 has a ramp-style thumb rest and the handle is attached with bolt sets, making it very sturdy but also nonremovable. With a 9.065-inch total length, 4.25-inch blade and weighing 7.375 ounces, the Bravo-1 is a very heavy-duty survival knife that can withstand tremendous abuse in the wild.

    Bark River STS-5

    • The STS-5 is a heavier and more tactical knife than the Bravo-1. With a 10.875-inch total length, 5.5-inch-long and .270-inch-thick blade, it is the sturdiest and thickest knife Bark River has made. The handle sets are removable and interchangeable as well. The STS-5 is great for survival and heavy hunting, but obviously because of its size it is not a very good EDC knife.
