Pettit National Ice Center

The largest and most prestigious indoor ice skating rink in Milwaukee is the Pettit National Ice Center. Many Olympic athletes have trained at the Pettit Center, including Bonnie Blair and Dan Jansen, and the center has hosted seven international speed skating competitions. Their schedule of operation includes figure skating and speed skating lessons, pick-up hockey, open skate times and even a curling area available for rental. The skate rental facility stocks speed skates, figure skates and hockey skates.

Eble Park Ice Arena

Owned and operated by Waukesha County, the Eble Park Ice Arena is located in Brookfield, about 15 miles from downtown Milwaukee. In addition to daily public skate times, the Eble Park Ice Arena offers skating lessons and pick-up hockey times. Figure skate rentals and concessions are available, but the facility does not accept credit or debit cards.

Wilson Ice Arena

Milwaukee County's Wilson Recreation Center has a standard NHL-sized ice rink. Public skate sessions are held a few times each week, and the rest of the schedule is open for hourly rental and use by organizations. Team locker rooms with showers are available, as well as a concession stand and figure skate rentals.

Kern Center

The Kern Center at the Milwaukee School of Engineering has an indoor ice skating rink available for member use and community rentals. Kern Center memberships vary in cost, from free memberships for students and faculty to nearly $700 annually for families in the community, as of February 2010.
