The Sea-Doo is a personal watercraft designed for use on lakes and oceans. This craft has two modes of throttle designed for simply cruising or participating in competitive water sports. Also, the Sea-Doo is equipped with a jet propulsion system that provides the watercraft with quick acceleration and power. If the oil system is not properly managed, problems may occur. Consequently, it is important to know how to troubleshoot a Sea-Doo oil system so such problems can be diagnosed and fixed.

Return the Sea-Doo to an authorized dealer for maintenance if smoke emits from the engine. The oil level may be too high.

Have the engine serviced by an authorized Sea-Doo dealer if the engine fails to accelerate or has reduced horsepower. This may be a sign the engine oil level is too high.

Check that synthetic oil was not used if the supercharger clutch is not working properly. The additives contained in the oil impair the functionality of the clutch. Return the Sea-Doo to an authorized dealer so the oil can be flushed out and replaced with the proper type of oil.
