How to Disassemble a Llama Max-1 45 C/F

The Llama Max-1 45 is a low-priced facsimile of the U.S. M1911 .45 caliber semi-automatic pistol. Manufactured in Spain from 1995 to 2005, the Max-1 features components and action similar to the Colt Government Model 1911. The single-action blowback-operated pistol fires .45 ACP ammunition fed from a seven-round magazine. It has a 5-inch barrel and an overall length of 8.625 inches. The weight of the Llama Max-1 is 41 ounces.

      Visually verify that the pistol is not loaded, and keep the muzzle pointed in a safe direction.

      Press the magazine release on the left side of the trigger guard and remove the magazine.

      Press in on the recoil spring plug located beneath the muzzle of the barrel while rotating the barrel bushing above it to the right. Release the recoil spring plug slowly to gradually decompress the recoil spring.

      Pull the slide all the way back, and align the notch in the slide with the nose of the slide stop.

      Press the slide stop pin out of the frame from the right side to the left.

      Push the slide all the way forward and off the front of the frame.

      Remove the recoil spring, recoil spring guide and the barrel from the slide.
