How to: Wheelie on an Automatic ATV
Popping a wheelie on an ATV is a relatively easy trick to master, even on an automatic. While manual transmission ATVs give you the option to use the clutch when lifting the front tires and setting them back down, it isn't necessarily easier for beginner riders; lifting the tires without the aid of the clutch is the best way to start. After mastering this technique and getting accustomed to balancing on two wheels, you may consider trying more advanced methods.

1
Find a smooth, straight patch of road or trail on which to practice.
-
2
Lay off the throttle while driving.
-
3
Hit the throttle hard while lifting the handle bars back. Slide back on your seat at the same time to shift your weight backward and lift the front end of the ATV.
-
4
Hit the rear brake and lean forward to bring the front two wheels back down to the ground. Make sure that your wheels are straight before they make contact, and throttle as they hit the ground to make the transition smoother.
