1
Pull the laces from a pair of hiking or outdoor boots to use for making a snare trap for small game.
-
2
Cut a 2-inch-diameter limb from a tree. Choose a limb with a fork. Trim the limb to a length of 2 feet, with the fork at one end. Hold the forked limb so it looks like a Y and sharpen the bottom of the limb to a point.
-
3
Push the sharpened end of the stick into the ground beside a game trail. Angle the stick so the fork is positioned over the trail.
-
4
Form a loop in one end of the boot lace. Open the loop so it is 6 inches across.
-
5
Place the boot lace in the fork of the limb so the loop is positioned over the game trail. Pull the free end of the boot lace back and down. Secure the boot lace to the trunk of a nearby tree or sapling. Position the loop in the game path so that a small animal, such as a rabbit, will enter the loop. As the animal struggles, the loop tightens and snares the animal.
