How to Build Outdoor Paintball Bunkers

Paintball is an intense game played outdoors with weapons that shoot paint-filled balls at high velocity. The impact of a paintball can actually cause a large bruise, as anyone whose ever played the game and has been shot can tell you. This makes the need for bunkers a must--not only to avoid getting bruised but also to use as cover to advance from point to point on your paintball field. A paintball bunker can be made out of any materials, but should be large enough to hide two or more players on a team.

Instructions

    • 1

Place one of the 2x4's across two wooden barrels (laying on their side, not standing up) placed side-by-side. Position the wood across the center of the barrels, then nail the wood in place. Flip the barrels over and repeat.

    • 2

Place two more 2x4s across the barrels in the same manner as Step 1, but position them the top and the bottom and nail them into place. Flip the barrels over and repeat.

    • 3

Stand the barrels upright, then place a 4x8 piece of plywood flush against the plywood on the barrels. Position the plywood lengthwise (making the bunker longer than higher) and ensure that the barrels are behind the plywood at the far left side then nail the plywood into the 2x4s.

    • 4

Place another piece of 4x8 plywood onto the first piece. This time, stand the plywood upright, then nail it into place. The idea here is to form an "L" shape bunker if you're looking at it from the front. This type of bunker allows you to stand and shoot or kneel and shoot--giving you and your team more cover and versatility.
