How to Assemble a SOG Folding Knife

SOG produces a variety of knives and multi-tools for use in outdoor sports and tactical purposes. Almost all of the SOG knives come from the factory pre-assembled. If reassembling a SOG knife that has been taken apart, prepare to work with very small screws and parts. Work at a bench covered in white paper. The white background makes the small parts easier to see if dropped.

      Place white paper on a work bench. Spread out all pieces of the SOG knife to be assembled. Set all the screws to one side.

      Place the knife handle onto the work bench. Place the knife blade onto the handle and align the attachment screw holes.

      Press the tip of the magnetic screwdriver onto the head of one handle screw so it attaches to the tip of the tool. Insert into one of the screw holes and secure to the SOG handle. Repeat for the other handle screws. Push the knife blade closed.

      Turn the knife over so the handle is on the bench and place the right hand handle piece onto the knife. Align the screw holes to the knife bar holes. Screw the screws into the handle.

      Push the blade release button on the upper left side of the SOG handle and guide the blade open with the thumb. Keep the thumb on the metal knob at the top of the blade.

      Push the blade in and test that the blade locks into the housing. Loosen the screws if the blade gets stuck while locking into the housing.
