How to Build a Own Road Bike With SRAM Force

Building a road bike equipped with SRAM Force involves three steps: Get sized for a frame of your choice, acquire the SRAM Force component group and assemble the frame with the SRAM parts. Instructions

    • 1

Go to a bicycle shop and have a shop clerk assist you in sizing a road bicycle frame. Purchase a frame made from the materials of your choice and in your size.

    • 2

Order or purchase the SRAM Force group of components. Purchase the full component group, which consists of front and rear derailleurs, cranks, chain rings, cables, shifters and brake levers, brakes, bottom bracket, cassette, chain and brake cables.

    • 3

Place the seat stem into the bicycle frame's seat tube. Clamp the seat stem into the bicycle work stand.

    • 4

Starting from the back end of the bicycle, attach the rear derailleur and rear brakes. Thread the bottom bracket into the center tube at the bottom of the bicycle, and attach the cranks and chain rings to the cranks. Thread the cassette onto the hub of the rear tire and set it aside.

    • 5

Attach the front derailleur, cable and front brakes. Fix the drop bars to the front of the bicycle, and attach the SRAM shifting and brake levers to the bars. Run the cables from the derailleurs and brakes into the shifters and brake levers.

    • 6

Put the rear and front tires onto the bicycle. Place the chain over the cassette and over the chain rings. Adjust the cables to bring the shifting and braking to your desired levels.
