How to Ride a Folding Bike

A folding bike, with its small wheels and compact frame, enables the user to fold it up into a small package for storage and transporting. This ability can make it possible for the owner of a folding bike to avoid having the bicycle stolen in a large city and can also make storage a simple matter when you do not have a garage. Because of its compact design, riding a folding bike is slightly different than riding a traditional bike. The speed may seem slower with a folding bike, but the overall ride will be similar.

Instructions

Adjust the seat so that when you sit on it, your feet reach the pedals comfortably with your knees slightly bent at the lowest position of the pedals as they go around. When you sit on the seat and hold the handlebars, your feet should extend down to the ground comfortably on each side of the bike.

Grasp the handlebars and begin pedaling the bike in the same fashion as you would pedal any other bicycle.

Expect that the smaller wheels will make the folding bike ride somewhat more slowly than a traditional bike. You may climb hills more slowly on a folding bike. You will also experience less shock absorbency from the small wheels, which means you may feel more bumps as you ride the folding bike.
