Instructions
-
-
1
Roll slowly forward on your skates.
-
2
Wind up your torso in the opposite direction you're going to turn when you jump.
-
3
Jump up just enough to release the weight from your skates.
-
4
Unwind your torso and turn quickly 180 degrees while the weight is off your skates. You'll end up facing the opposite direction but still rolling the same direction.
-
5
Look over your shoulder to see where you're skating.
-
6
Lightly carve side-to-side once you're comfortable with skating backward.
-
7
Put pressure on the outside skate as you carve to generate speed. This is similar to pushing off when you are skating forward, except that you don't lift a skate.
-
8
Jump up and spin 180 degrees to face forward again.
