1
Purchase or design building plans. A number of places online sell mini-ramp plans, or even offer plans for free. The plans will guide you through the measurements and materials you'll need to build your ramp. If you can't find any plans online that you like, try and draw up your own.

2
Decide on the overall size of your mini-ramp. Most mini-ramps are more wide than they are tall. An average height is about 2 feet, with a length around 8 feet.
-
3
Clear out an adequate work space to build your ramp. One of the best places to build a ramp is a garage with a workbench--just make sure your workspace is dry. You should build the ramp where you will store it.
-
4
Mark the measurements on the wood. Take one piece of 3/4 inch plywood and draw a line up the right side of the wood 28 inches. Use your pencil to make a separate line going out to the left to the center of the plywood board. This piece will serve as the deck of your mini ramp. Make another line about 6 feet in length at the bottom of the mini ramp. This will be the bottom where you will ride your board up the ramp.
-
5
Cut the wood. Use your saw to cut along the lines you've drawn on the plywood. Repeat this process on a second piece of plywood in order to make the opposite side of the ramp.
-
6
Build the frame. Take your two-by-fours and fasten them to the side pieces you cut out. Make sure to space out the wood support beams enough to give the ramp structure ample support.
-
7
Compete the ramp. Fasten a piece of 3/8-inch wood to the frame of the mini ramp. Make sure the nails or screws you use are securely fastened to both the sides and the middle support of the ramp. The board should be thin enough to follow the curve of the ramp.

8
Use sandpaper to smooth out the rough edges.
