Instructions

Push off on your board lightly, gaining enough speed to plant both of your feet in the traditional style with both toes facing one direction. It is best to begin slowly and once you have mastered turning to increase your speed.

    • 2

Gain your balance and keep your feet firmly planted on the board. Never shift you weight when trying to turn, this can quickly result in the riding falling off the board.

    • 3

Apply pressure to your toes to make a turn in that direction. The board will tip slightly in that direction and the board will make a smooth turn in that direction. When you want to stop making the turn simple pull the pressure off your toes and center your balance on the board. This should help you stay straight.

Turn in the opposite direction requires pressure on the heels. Just like before, depending on the amount of pressure you use, the board should react by making a smooth turn.

Apply pressure from your toes to your heels back and forth to let the board slalom from right to left. This is also a good opportunity to experiment with different amounts of pressure to see how the board reacts.
