How to Do a Hardflip on a Skateboard

The hardflip is one of the more difficult tricks to explain, but one of the coolest to perform. A hardflip is basically when your skateboard rotates 180 degrees like a frontside pop shuvit and then flips like a kickflip. Think of the hardflip as a frontside kickflip shuvit.

Instructions

    • 1

Position your feet like you're doing a frontside shuvit: one foot on the front trucks and the other on the tail. Roll forward.

    • 2

Pop the board. As you pop, slide your front foot up the board and kick your back foot down on the tail to turn your board in mid-air. Keep your shoulders square with the board and pop higher for this trick.

    • 3

Pull your feet up to let the board freely flip.

    • 4

Catch the board at 90 degrees and then turn it the rest of the way as you come down. Straighten the board, land and extend your legs so you're standing again.

    • 5

Center yourself on the board and roll away.
