1
Place your skis or snowshoes bottom-to-bottom. The curve of skis means only the tips will touch, while the middle portions of the ski-blades rest an inch or so apart. The front edges of the skis will curve away from each other.
-
2
Measure the width of the two skis/snowshoes at the point near the top where their bottoms are touching, and measure again at the very top tips. The nails will support the skis/snowshoes on the curve between these two points.
-
3
Drive the two nails into the wall or frame where you plan to hang the skis, next to each other horizontally. The distance between them should be just wider than the width of the two skis' width at the point where their bottoms touch.
-
4
Hold the skis/snowshoes up in between the nails to test the width. The two skis/snowshoes should fit between the nails while the toe-tips curve outward over the nails.
-
5
Cover the nails with padded tape. This will protect the skis/snowshoes from being scratched.
-
6
Use the Velcro band to secure the skis/snowshoes lower on the ski, anywhere from the center all the way to the heel-end. Otherwise the skis will lose leverage and slip out of the nails.
-
7
Place the skis/snowshoes in a braced position between the nails, and let them hang on the curves up to the toe-ends.
