How to Carry Snowshoes
Instructions
-
-
1
Remove your snowshoes from your feet and place them together, one on top of the other. The top of one should be facing up and the bottom of the other should be facing down.
-
2
Take your poles, if you have them, and slip them through the opening at the top of the snowshoe. The spikes should be facing out, not touching your body. If you don't have poles, skip to Step 4.
-
3
Keep a safe distance from other hikers. Make sure your poles are pointed upward. Letting your pole drop endangers other hikers who may not be paying attention and runs you the risk of losing your snowshoes. Monitor your speed and keep looking ahead of you if you're following others to avoid running into their poles and getting stabbed.
-
4
Place the snowshoes together so that the bottoms are touching and the tops are facing outward. Slip your hand through the snowshoe holes and carry them by clenching them or tucking them under your arm, the way you would carry books. Since the spikes are turned inside, they won't stab or hurt you.
