How to Apply an Adhesive Traction Pad to Your Shortboard
"The first time I ever put on a traction pad, I was in a hurry to get into the water. I put it on crooked, so it wrapped around the rail - I had to peel it off and reapply it three times!" says Timmy Reyes, O'Neill Surf Team rider.

Clean the board with a wet rag, or with a rag dampened with acetone, and let it dry.

Determine the ideal location for your traction pad by placing it on the board without peeling off the adhesive covering.

5
Peel off the covering once you're comfortable with where the pad will go.
-
6
Press the pad onto the board and push the pad down with your thumbs, making sure to run over all of the edges.
-
