How to Use a Springfield XD Magazine Loader

Loading magazine after magazine can be brutal on fingers. Magazine loaders are a simple tool that can help prevent damage to fingers caused by this repetitive motion. Springfield magazine loaders come standard with many Springfield guns. A common objection to the Springfield loader is that it does not have any moving parts in its design, which makes it a bit more difficult to learn to use. With a little practice, it is just as useful as a more expensive magazine loader.

Instructions

    • 1

Slide the magazine loader over the top of the magazine. To fit properly over the magazine, the groove in the magazine loader should slide over the numbers on the back of the magazine.

    • 2

Place your thumb in the indentation on the back of the magazine loader.

    • 3

Pull down slightly with your thumb until you feel a bit of tension on the loader.

    • 4

Slide a bullet into the top of the magazine. The back of the bullet should be toward your thumb that is holding the magazine loader in place.

    • 5

Push down slightly with the magazine loader. In this step, the loader is helping the bullet slide against the back of the magazine.

    • 6

Push down harder with the magazine loader until the bullet has loaded into the magazine.

    • 7

Repeat the loading process until the magazine is full.
