1
Dress appropriately for a baseball tailgate. Chances are your baseball tailgate will be a much warmer again than a conventional tailgate. Add that along with the fact that your tailgate will be in the parking lot outside of the ballpark and you'll probably want to wear a pair of shorts and a t-shirt to your baseball tailgate.
-
2
Bring plenty of cold beverages other than alcoholic drinks. Since it will be warm out during your baseball tailgate, you'll dehydrate quicker than normal. A few bottles of water can go a long way in making sure that you stay hydrated during your baseball tailgate.
-
3
Cook foods associated with summer at your baseball tailgate. As cliché as it may sound, nothing makes a baseball tailgate great like hot dogs and burgers. Make sure that you are allowed to grill at your baseball tailgate before cooking these foods, though.
-
4
Bring a cooler filled with other great summer foods. Since it's warm out, you won't want to spend your afternoon in front of a hot grill. Potato salad is an example of a great picnic food that is filling as well. There are plenty of types of potato salad that you can either make or buy at your local grocery store.

5
Plan tailgate games that won't wear you out. Once again, this will help to prevent you and your guests from overheating. Flip cup or beer pong are easy drinking games you can play at a tailgate and they also don't take much energy to play.
-
6
Bring plenty of chairs for you and your guests during a baseball tailgate. After the food has been cooked, it' s nice to have a seat and enjoy a burger, dog and a beer while letting the sun shine down on you. You can also turn on your car radio or bring a small battery-operated radio and listen to some music or a pregame show before heading into the ballpark.
