If you're a frequent flier, certain airlines like Continental and American Airlines offer the opportunity to cash in miles for things other than flights. It's free to register for frequent flier programs, and each trip you take is worth a certain amount of miles. Most recently, Continental auctioned off tickets to see the New York Knicks vs. the LA Lakers on Feb. 2. They sold for 44,000 air miles.

Barry's Tickets is a Los Angeles-based company that sells all kinds of sports tickets, but specializes in Lakers tickets. It's sold tickets to all Lakers home and away games for more than 20 years. It is not affiliated with Ticketmaster or any other national disburser. There's a Barry's Tickets office right next to the Staples Center, where you can pick up your tickets.

Though it's not the most secure avenue to get tickets to the Lakers, Los Angeles Craigslist is always an option when you're looking to score last-minute tickets. Craigslist is a website where people post items they're looking to buy or sell, including everything from tickets to real estate. Under the LA Craigslist "For Sale" section is a link for tickets. You can either browse through the section or search for Lakers tickets. But be aware of scams and meet in a public place to complete your transaction.

Stub Hub is another website where Lakers tickets can be purchased. Unlike Barry's Tickets, Stub Hub is a larger venue that sells sports, theater and concert tickets as well. It also offers the option of selling Lakers tickets, if you've got to back out for some reason and cannot use your tickets.

Ebay, the online auction site, also offers Lakers tickets. In February 2009, at the time of writing, there were 581 people selling tickets to the Lakers at both home and away games. Ebay offers a safe and secure way to complete your transaction, whether you won the tickets through an auction or used the "Buy It Now" option.
