1
Understand the differences for head to head leagues. In a head to head league the statistics are compiled weekly and your team's statistics are compared against another team in the league. This is where the term head to head is derived. Every week you will go head to head with another team in your league. Your team gets a win for each category you outperform the other team in and a loss for every category the other team outperforms yours. Every team's record in each of these head to head matches is compiled over the course of the season to determine the standings.

2
Set your roster. To play in a head to head fantasy basketball league you need to set your active roster before every week. This differs from rotisserie leagues that allow roster changes every day.
-
3
Know your players' schedules. Because statistics are compiled every week you need to pick the best players to activate for each week. When you play in a head to head fantasy basketball league this can be a difficult concept to comprehend. Every NBA team has a different schedule. Some teams will play two games in a given week while another team may play five. Because of this you may have to bench a more productive player who plays fewer games for a less productive player who plays more games.

4
Manage your head to head fantasy basketball team just like you would manage a rotisserie team. Even though the scoring system is different, the overall strategy is the same. The only difference is you may use the last spot or two on your roster in to pick up borderline players who have four or five games that week.
