How to Create Parlay Cards

Betting on sports is a pasttime for many sports enthusiasts who feel that having something on the line makes the game more interesting to watch. While gambling more money than you can afford to lose is reckless behavior and a sign of a gambling problem, recreational betting in small amounts with spare money can be an entertaining pasttime. In parlay betting, multiple games are grouped as one bet, greatly increasing the payout if all the teams win. Different sports books can offer different rates on parlays, making a parlay card an easy reference to find your best odds.

Instructions

    • 1

Divide the index card into columns using the marker, with one more column than there are sports books that you can place a bet with.

    • 2

Divide the columns into rows equal to the number of potential teams in your parlay using the marker. For example, if the biggest parlay offered is 15 teams, make 15 rows.

    • 3

Label the upper left square in the grid "Teams" with a marker.

    • 4

Number the square beneath the "Teams" heading with "2", the square beneath that "3" and so on, using a marker.

    • 5

Label the remaining squares in the top row next to the "Teams" heading with the available books you can place bets with.

    • 6

Fill in the squares under the first sports book with the odds offered for a parlay with a number of teams equal to the number in the left-most column for each square. Use a pencil so that if the odds with a book change, you can erase and update.

    • 7

Repeat for the other sports books so you have a card with the parlay odds for each book for each number of teams.

    • 8

Determine the parlay you want to place, and select the book that offers the best odds for that many teams.
