How to Buy Football Tickets

Attending a football game is unlike any other sports experience. Fans are passionate about their favorite teams, and show their love in stadiums all around the country. Due to the popularity of the sport, acquiring tickets to watch your favorite team can be a chore. Contacting the team ticket office won't do any good, as games sell out months in advance. Thankfully, numerous ticket exchange websites will allow you and your friends to find and buy seats to the football game of your choice.

      Log onto the NFL Ticketmaster Ticket Exchange website. Ticketmaster should be your first stop as it is the “Official ticket exchange of the NFL.” Once you enter the website, you will see every NFL team listed. Click the link for the team of your choice. Once you have done this, you will be redirected to that team's Ticket Exchange Web page. Click the “Buy” link next to the game you want to attend and you'll find a long list of available tickets (see Resources below).

      Search for football tickets on Stub Hub. Stub Hub is another ticket marketplace where fans can buy and sell seats. Once you're on the home page, select the “NFL Football” link found on the left side. Then scroll through the listed NFL teams until you find the link for your team. After clicking that link, you will once again be taken to a list of games. Select a game to view the available tickets (see Resources below).

      Look for football tickets on Craigslist. Craigslist allows you to contact ticket sellers directly, taking out a “middleman” website. Begin by choosing the appropriate Craigslist Web page. For example, if you're searching for New York Giants tickets, you would log onto the New York Craigslist Web page. Once on the Craigslist homepage, click on the “tickets” link found in the “for sale” box. Scroll through the links on the next Web page until you find one for the football game of your choice. Click on that link and you will be given more information, such as price of the tickets and the seller's contact information (see Resources below).

      Buy football tickets off of eBay. Seat to every football game of the season can be found on eBay. Visit the eBay home page. Then, type in the name of the football team you want to see with the word “tickets” following the name (“New York Giants tickets”). In the drop box next to the text box, select “Tickets.” Click the “Search” tab and you will find numerous football tickets which you can bid on (see Resources below).
