2003 and 2004

The 2003 and 2004 seasons piloted the sport of air racing, so the small number of pilots participating required fewer rounds to compete. 2003 held only two race locations -- the first in Zeltweg, Austria and the second in Budapest, Hungary. The first round of 2004 was held at the Kemble Royal Air Force base in the United Kingdom, while the second and third rounds were in Budapest, Hungary and Reno, Nevada in the United States, respectively.
2005 and 2006

2005 and 2006 shared a first round location in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. In 2005, the second race was held in Rotterdam, Netherlands, the third in Zeltweg, Austria, the fourth in Rock of Cashel, Ireland, the fifth in Longleat, UK, the sixth in Budapest, Hungary, and the seventh and final race in San Francisco, California. The second and third rounds in 2006 were located in Barcelona, Spain and Berlin, Germany. The fifth through ninth rounds, respectively, were held in Istanbul, Turkey, Budapest, Hungary, Longleat, UK, San Francisco, California and Perth, Australia.
2007

The most rounds per season of the Red Bull Air Race Championships was twelve, which took place in 2007. Each round had a different location, beginning in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Monument Valley, USA and Istanbul, Turkey were the locations of the second, third and fourth rounds for 2007, in that order. The fifth round was cancelled this year. Round six was in Bern, Switzerland, round seven in London, UK, round eight in Budapest, Hungary, round nine in Porto, Portugal and round ten in San Diego, California. The eleventh round was also cancelled, but the final round was again held in Perth, Australia.
2008 and 2009

Abu Dhabi, UAE hosted the first rounds during the 2008 and 2009 championships, and San Diego, California held the second rounds in both seasons. In 2008, the third race was located in Detroit, Michigan and the fourth race was cancelled. The fifth through ninth rounds were in Rotterdam, Netherlands, London, UK, Budapest, Hungary, Porto, Portugal and Perth, Australia. The third round of 2009 was in Ontario, Canada, the fourth in Budapest, Hungary, the fifth in Porto, Portugal and the sixth in Barcelona, Spain.
2010

For the sixth year in a row, the first round of the 2010 Championship was held in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Perth, Australia hosted the second round and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil held the third round. The fourth, fifth, and sixth races were in Ontario, Canada, New York City, USA and Lausitz, Germany. The seventh and eighth rounds were cancelled in 2010.
2011 and Future Seasons

Organizers of the Red Bull Air Race World Championship cancelled the 2011 race season during the summer of 2010, declaring that at least one year would be needed for safety improvements and development of the sport. However, only a one-year break is expected, and the Red Bull Air Race Championships should resume in 2012.
