Allstate Arena Events for Children

Allstate Arena, in Rosemont, Illinois, 17 miles northwest of Chicago, opened in 1980 and can accommodate 18,500 spectators. Several sports teams play at the arena as their home field. The arena also regularly hosts concerts and other performances that appeal to children.

    • If the children are sports fans, Allstate Arena offers plenty of opportunities to watch athletic contests. The arena is home to four professional sports teams and one collegiate team. The American Hockey League's Chicago Wolves, the Arena Football League's Chicago Rush, the WNBA's Chicago Sky and the DePaul University men's basketball team, also known as the Blue Demons, all call Allstate Arena home.

    Concerts

    • Allstate Arena regularly hosts concerts suitable for children depending on their tastes. The arena regularly draws top national acts that have included Brittney Spears, the resurgent New Kids on the Block and country music's Keith Urban.

    Circus

    • Clowns perform in the circus at Allstate Arena.

      Children who love a spectacle will enjoy a few hours under the big top during one of the circus' regular stops at Allstate Arena. Exotic animals including elephants, tigers and stallions perform in the shows. Your children can also catch the strongman act, along with a a stunt wherein a man shoots himself from a crossbow at 65 miles per hour. Clowns and acrobats round out the performance.

    • Other worthwhile events for children staged at the Allstate Arena include wrestling, ice skating productions and exhibitions by the Harlem Globetrotters basketball team. World Wrestling Entertainment regularly holds wrestling matches at the arena. Disney lovers will enjoy Disney on Ice, and Stars on Ice features Olympians and other skating champions. The Globetrotters will impress the children with their alternative take on basketball.
