Wimbledon matches are scheduled for two weeks. Pick a day to go, and plan on being there at 8 a.m. the day before that session. You must be no further back in the line than No. 500 for a show court ticket. For any other tickets, go the evening before the session, or show up very early on the day of play.

Watch for guide signs at the park. Those signs direct people to the start of the queue. A steward will be there to greet people and tell them where to set up tents. Once a few hundred people are in the queue, which will zig zag across a designated section of the park, Wimbledon officials will hand out "Queue Cards." This is essentially a ticket to get a ticket. It's also how a queue member makes his place in line official. Once a visitor has a queue card, he is free to wander to other areas and can still reclaim his place in line.

In the morning, the stewards will give all of the campers instructions about where to pack their belongings and how to line up for the walk to the tennis stadiums. Once the queue is on the move, stewards will come by with colored wrist bands, which will denote which courts the wearer can enter, and a list of the matches to be played on each court.

Wimbledon only accepts cash from queue-line fans. Find out what the cost is for any match you see before you get in line, and have that money ready so the line moves swiftly along.
