How to Calculate Points in Fantasy Football

1
Determine the positive offensive points. Tally all the passing-related points, which are 4 points for each touchdown and 1 point for every 25 yards of passing yardage. Calculate the rushing- and receiving-related points , which are 6 points for every touchdown and 1 point for every 10 rushing or receiving yards gained. Add any two-point conversions, which are worth 2 points. Subtract 2 points for every interception or lost fumble.

2
Calculate the special teams points. For example, add 1 point for successful extra points, 3 points for successful field goals up to 49 yards in length. 5 points for successful field goals longer than 50 yards and 6 points for every punt or kickoff return that results in a touchdown.
-
3
Tally up the individual defensive points. For example, add 1 point for every sack, 2 points for every safety, fumble recovery or intercepted pass, and 6 points for every defensive touchdown scored.
-
4
Add up the entire defensive team scoring (in some fantasy football leagues, players draft individual defensive player; in others, an entire NFL team's defense is drafted). For example, NFL team defenses receive 10 points for shutouts, 7 points for holding their opponent between 2 and 6 points, 4 points for holding their opponent between 7 and 13 points; 1 point for 14 to 20 points, 0 points for 21- to 27 points, lose 1 point for allowing between 28 and 34 points and lose 2 points for allowing more than 35 points.
