1
Check the team's schedule and see which team is playing at home. Home field advantage in soccer is very significant. So playing a good player who is playing at home may be better than starting a star who is on the road.
-
2
Observe what each team did in the off-season. A good off-season signing can greatly benefit a good player on that team. Conversely, if a good player leaves a bad team, it probably is best to stay away from players remaining on that team, as their performances may suffer with his loss.
-
3
Select mostly forwards because they get the most opportunities to score goals. Pick as many good forwards for your team as the league allows.
-
4
Pay close attention to the injury reports. Soccer is a physically stressful sport and injuries are common. Nothing will hurt a fantasy soccer team's chances of winning more than starting an injured player.
-
5
Ascertain what style of play each team employs before selecting a player. Some teams are aggressive, and the players on those teams will score more goals. Some teams emphasize playing defensively, and players on these teams will score fewer goals.
