How to Identify Athletic Wear Company by Logos

During a game is rarely the appropriate time to ask an athlete where he got his clothing. Yet athletic wear has become such a part of everyday fashion in the U.S. that it can be tempting to ask even if you don't play sports. If you have to guess, there are a few major companies to choose from: New Balance, Under Armour, Nike, Adidas, Asics and Champion.

Instructions

    • 1

Look for the abbreviation "NB," where the "N" is slightly faded as if wind is whipping past it. This is the New Balance logo.

    • 2

Look for a shape that appears to be an "X" with a rounded center. This is a "U" merged on top of an "A," and it's the Under Armour logo.

    • 3

Look for a shape that appears to be a rounded check mark (as you would see next to items on a to-do list). This is a take on the wings of the Greek goddess Nike, and is the "Swoosh" logo for the Nike company.

    • 4

Look for three parallel lines. They may appear as the outline of a capital "A," across the middle of a three-leaf shape or as a curve across a circle. These are all Adidas logos.

    • 5

Look for a stylized, lowercase "A" in a sans-serif font. This is the Asics logo.

    • 6

Look for what appears to be a capital "C" in black letter font, with its left side filled in with red. This is the Champion logo.
