      Find the bracket at ESPN.com near playoff time ' this will include the 12 playoff teams and a blank tree descending to the Super Bowl.

      Assign point values for each of the successive four rounds ' 1 point for teams reaching the second round, 2 points for those making the third, 4 points for NFC and AFC champions and 8 points for the Super Bowl champ.

      Gather friends and co-workers interested in playing.

      Decide on an entry amount.

      Distribute the bracket with instructions.

      Have all participants pick winners for each game, filling in the name of the winning team for each round. No cheaters; write in pen.

      Guess at a combined total score of the two Super Bowl teams for use as a tiebreaker.
