How to Create My Own NFL Playoff & Super Bowl Bracket

Year after year, the NFL playoffs enthrall sports fans across the country. They present fans with the perfect opportunity to not only root for their favorite teams, but to also engage in some friendly competition and gambling among friends as well. Office pools are common for a variety of sports (most commonly college basketball), but are perhaps best-suited for the NFL because of the popularity of the Super Bowl. Organizing your own pool and creating brackets can be easy and fun. And if your bracket wins, it will also be well worth your time.

Invite friends, coworkers and relatives to participate in your NFL playoff bracket pool. The more people that are involved in the pool, the greater the amount in the pot will be. Decide how much you will charge to enter and whether your bracket will be a winner-take-all or whether the pot will be divvied between first, second and third places.

Create a centralized bracket on a large dry-erase board. Fill in the six NFL playoff teams for each conference on the dry-erase board with an erasable marker. There should be four rounds in total, with the first being the wild-card round and the fourth being the Super Bowl. Fill in the dates and times for each game too, leaving space to fill in the scores of the games.

Access the NFL's website and print off enough brackets to distribute to everyone in your pool. Distribute them, collect all entry fees and make sure everyone's bracket is returned before the first playoff game. Instruct all participants to predict scores for each game, too. Use the point predictions to break ties or to allot bonus points for correctly predicted scores. Add up total scores after the Super Bowl and award winners their prize.
