How to Get Football Autographs Through the Mail

Autographs provide a way for everyday people to connect with their favorite celebrities. Professional football players, like other celebrities, have many demands on their time and are not always able to provide the individual time to sign autographs. If you can’t catch your favorite player after practice, you can always request autographs through the mail.

Instructions

Write a letter, requesting an autograph, to your favorite player through the team for which he plays. Make the letter short and polite. Players receive a lot of mail, and do not have time to deal with long or pushy letters.

    • 2

Include the item you want the player to sign, such as a sports card or picture. Do not send anything too valuable through the mail, since there is always the possibility of loss and theft. If you do send something pricey, talk to the post office about insuring the package.

Provide a self-addressed, stamped envelope, for the player’s convenience. If he can just sign it and stick it in your envelope, instead of trying to find an envelope and then copying your address, you will have much better chances of success.

Contact the college your favorite player attended. Alumni groups often have autograph signing events, and they will allow you to mail your request if you are unable to attend.
