1
Locate the stabilizer bar on the front of the bow. The bar is typically set at a low center point on compound bows. Twist the bar in a counterclockwise motion to unscrew it from the bow. Set the bar aside.
-
2
Place the bow stopper mounting plate against the threaded outlet on the adapter. Screw the threaded end of the adapter into the stabilizer position. Adjust the mounting plate at a right angle to the bow, aligned below the arrow rest and hand tighten the adapter to hold the position.
-
3
Place the end of the stopper rod through the hole on the mounting plate. Adjust the rod until the rubber stopper is against the bowstring. Push the rod to add a slight amount of tension on the string. Use a hex wrench to tighten the hex bolt on the mounting plate. This will lock the position of the bow stopper.
-
4
Place the threaded end of the stabilizer bar into the adapter. Screw in a clockwise motion to replace the stabilizer.
-
5
Fire several shots to test the stopper. Loosen the hex nut and add more tension if the stopper does not catch the string. The stopper will only require a small amount of tension to absorb the shock of the moving string.
