1
Review the owner's manual for the PSE specifications for the individual model. Every PSE bow contains specifications and measurements for repair and tuning. Individual specs can also be found in the annual catalog.
-
2
Measure the specifications with a tape measure. Take measurements for the brace height, draw weight and string lengths. Match the measurements to the owner's manual and specifications. If any measurements don't match, replace the part.
-
3
Adjust the draw weight according to the range for the PSE bow with the appropriate Allen wrench. Turn the limb bolts -- located at the connection point from the limbs and rise -- clockwise to increase the draw weight and counter-clockwise to decrease draw weight. Always turn the top and bottom limb bolts equal amounts.
-
4
Check the cam orientation. Repairing the cam orientation ensures every shot is consistent. Orientation marks are placed on the cams and should be within a string width of the bow string. Adjust the position of the bow string until it lines up the orientation marks and ensure the top and bottom marks are symmetrical.
-
5
Place the PSE bow into a bow press to compress the limbs. This allows you to make additional changes to the bow string and cams. Always turn the limb bolts four complete turns from the bottom position before servicing in a bow press.
-
6
Adjust the draw length using the appropriate marked holes on the inner cams. The draw length adjustments will be listed using letters marked "A" through "J." "A" always indicates the longest draw length for the bow and decreases by 3/4 inches to "J." For example, a PSE bow with draw lengths from 17 to 27 inches uses the "A" marked holes for a 27 inch draw length and "J" for a 17 inch draw length.
