Learn the meaning of the racing flags. A green flag starts and restarts the race.

Slow to half speed and drive single file when the yellow flag is waving. No passing is allowed.

Disobey a driving rule and you will see a black flag. You risk disqualification if you drive in a manner that endangers yourself or others, ignore flags, have contact with another kart or exhibit poor sportsmanship.

Allow lead drivers to pass when you see a blue flag.

Stop and remain in your kart when the red flag appears. A white flag signals that one lap remains.

Return to the pits slowly when you see a checkered flag. This signals the end of the race.
Racing Techniques and Tips

Hold the steering wheel of your go-kart at the 10 and 2 position, and sit up with good posture. Place your seat in a position that gives the best control of the kart.

Become familiar with the track to excel in kart racing, and drive at a speed you can easily handle as you do a test run. Figure out the proper race line, turn-in point, apex and way to maneuver turns.

Practice driving into curves, and make sure you don't exceed the speed your tires can handle.

Learn proper braking techniques. Turn into a skid to regain control and don't apply the brakes. Practice the skill of countersteering when excessive speed causes the kart to turn into an unwanted direction.

Accelerate on the straight-of-ways to gain position, and practice to find the best maximum speed to maintain control on every part of the track.
