How to Drive in a Powder Puff Race

If you are female, love fast cars and have always wanted to be in a race, you should drive in a Powder Puff race. Throughout the country, Powder Puff races take place all year. Women of all ages are driving race cars, competing against other women and having an exciting time driving in Powder Puff races.

Instructions

  1. Preparing for the Race

      Check local race tracks to see when Powder Puff races are scheduled.

      Fill out a racing entry form to enter your car in the Powder Puff Derby.

      Transport your race car to the track by either towing it or putting it on a car carrier. Always make sure that you observe all of the highways safety regulations when transporting your race car.

      Register your car at the race track on the day of the race.

      Draw for starting positions against the other Powder Puff race drivers.

      Drive your car to your starting position and get ready for the race to begin.

    Driving in the Race

      Dress in your racing gear, including your fire resistant racing suit, driving shoes and helmet.

      Walk to your race car and enter the car through the drivers side window.

      Put on your racing gloves, protective eye wear and your helmet support.

      Secure the straps and buckles for your safety harness and seatbelt.

      Start your engine and slowly drive around the racetrack getting into position for the start of the race.

      Approach the starting line and watch for the checkered flag to begin the race. Once the race begins drive quickly around the track. Try to pass all of the other cars during the laps of the race.

      Cross the finish line first and win the race.
