1
Locate a flat open space to set up the badminton net. A regulation badminton singles court is 44 by 17 feet and 44 by 20 feet for doubles. If you can't find a large space, then play in the space available to you.
-
2
Locate the middle of your badminton court and lay out the net and poles on the ground.
-
3
Attach the net to the poles. Use square knots to tie the strings at the corners of the net to the corresponding rings and/or holes on the poles.
-
4
Use square knots to attach two ropes to the corresponding rings located on the back of the top portion of the first badminton pole.
-
5
Use more square knots to attach the tag ends of the ropes to two stakes.
-
6
Stretch the two ropes backwards and away from the pole at 45 degree angles from the court sideline. Use the mallet to pound the stakes attached to the ropes into the ground.
-
7
While maintaining tension on the net, repeat Steps 4 through 6 in order to set up the second badminton pole. Your badminton net is now ready for use.
