Things You'll Need
- Dry cloth
- Vaseline
- Hammer or mallet
- Towel

Rub a dab of Vasoline onto the exterior surface of the glove in short, round motions.

Work the Vasoline into the glove until it is moist but not sticky, before moving on to the next area of the glove. Cover the entire exterior surface of the glove with Vasoline, rubbed deep into the leather.

Place the glove on a towel on the ground.

Bang the surface of the glove with a hammer or mallet to soften the leather.

Throw the ball up and catch it in the glove. Play ball with yourself until it is soft enough that it opens and closes easily.

Add more Vasoline to the glove after letting it sit overnight.
