How to Make Your Own T-Ball Stand

Baseball has long captured the hearts of American youth. But for those youngsters who aren't ready to have a stranger hurl a hard object at them, T-ball is a gentle introduction to the sport. T-ball introduces all of the kinetics of the game, while keeping potential injury to a minimum by having the children swing at a stationary ball perched on top of a tee. Making your own T-ball stand so your future hall-of-famer can practice her swing is simple.

Instructions

    • 1

Measure the length of PVC pipe you will need, and then subtract 8 inches (the height of a standard paint can). The top of the tee to be centered between your child's stomach and solar plexus, depending on her height. A 2-inch mouth on the PVC pipe is wide enough for any standard baseball or Wiffle Ball.

Fill your paint can with enough rocks to offer a sturdy base. No more than a pound or two will be necessary, as you still want your tee to be transportable.

Secure the PVC pipe to the top of the paint can with epoxy. Depending on the brand of epoxy, it can take anywhere from five minutes to 12 hours to set.
