How to Get Signed Up for Major League Scout School

Major League scout school is officially known as the "Major League Baseball Scouting Bureau's Annual Scout Development Program." The Scouting Bureau debuted in 1974 and officially became part of MLB in 1985 in order to promote quality information on potential ballplayers. In 1992, the Scouting Bureau began an annual two-week "scout school." It is easier to get a membership in Yale's Skull & Bones Club than a place in the Scouting Bureau school. Held annually for around 50 students, the school requires nomination of each student by an MLB team or the Scouting Bureau itself.
