Grip the ball properly. Use your middle finger to secure the seam of the baseball. This will provide the necessary friction to produce the rotation.

Perfect the throw. Have your throwing elbow at a height equal to your throwing shoulder. Take the path of your throw as close to your head as you can. It should be slightly up and slightly away from your ear.

Execute the release. Release the ball in a hooked manner and pull your arm away and across your body during the follow-through. Release the ball close to your body to increase the curve of the ball. Your arm speed should be as fast as possible throughout the throw.
